Technological Innovation - Back-up Programmes - New companies based on science and technology

Action:

Projects involving the launch of companies based on science and technology, the objective being to create, by employing or creating marketable knowledge, new companies which contain a satisfactory combination of the following:

  • Companies carrying out an activity or selling services or products with a high scientific-technological content
  • Companies carrying out a considerable amount of R&D activity
  • Companies using patent rights as competitive edge in the market, obtained by the companies themselves or acquired by exclusive licence
  • Companies who actively involve highly qualified technicians or scientists
Beneficiaries:

Entrepreneurs, companies and the various agents of the Basque Technology and Innovation Network

Financial instruments:

Phase I:
  • Search for business opportunities, definition of the work plan and incorporation of the company
  • The entrepreneurs will be accompanied by network agents (basically CEEIs) if they are not legal entities
  • Non-returnable subsidy up to 12,000 euros
Phase II:
  • R&D activity
  • Non-returnable subsidy, up to 30%
    • +10% SMEs
    • +10% inter-business co-operation
    • + 50% of the costs of subcontracting the Basque Technology and Innovation Network (maximum)
  • Innovative activity
  • Returnable advance payment, up to 50%
