The objectives of the qualitative and/or quantitative assistance provided by the Basque Government's International Section's Department of Industry, Trade and Tourist Affairs together with SPRI are as follows:
To increase the export base.
To develop the international dimension of Basque businesses.
To promote geographic and sectorial diversification of commercial and economic relations with other countries.
SPRI provides back-up for companies at the various stages of the globalisation process, according to the Plans for Action: The AYUDAS Assistance Plan by the Basque Government and the ATZERRI Programme (SPRI).
1.- Initiation.
- INTERBIDE - Internationalisation Strategies.
- Method of Strategic Reflexion for Internationalisation.
2.- Consolidation
- Consultancy in connection with a search for sales outlets: search for Representatives, Distributors, Agents, etc.
- Export consortia.
- Consultancy in connection with international contracts.
- Promotion abroad in new markets: trade fairs, business trips, promotional material etc.
SPRI has its own offices in countries considered as priorities, and a network of agents in other countries.
3.- Implementation.
- Consultancy service in the search for local partners: Commercial or Production.
- Consultancy service for commercial and/or production implementations.
- Overseas qualifications for globalisation projects.
- Financing of investment involving overseas implementation: the Gauzatu Implantaciones Exteriores plan (company installation projects abroad)
4.- Training and Information.
- Grants for training purposes.
- Grants to gain experience in export companies or in companies overseas
- Courses of action geared towards sensitisation: Sectorial conferences in connection with Basque businesses, Seminars on globalisation, publication of pertinent reports etc.
Direct promotional methods: Industrial catalogue and catalogue of export companies. Promotion of Basque business in other locations
- Sectorial surveys in other locations: market opportunity hunt in other locations for active promotion of business opportunities between Basque businesses.
- Institutional visits: mutual institutional visits to or from other locations.
- Communication: sectorial and general information in relation to the Basque economy in local communications media or farther afield.
